And they were a walkin'!

Finally!  Kylie has been taking steps for months now, and about two weeks ago has been walking almost full time.  Kendall decided to join her!  Here is a funny video I took of them this weekend:

Believe it or not, they are actually much steadier than this less than a week later.  They have barely crawled at all this week.  I think we're in for a crazy ride!

We have been going nonstop lately, and I haven't had a chance to update on what's going on in our world!

We have been on the go!  We had Kendall and Kylie's birthday party at the end of May (Memorial Day weekend).  We all had a blast.  My parents were kind enough to host it at their house, and we all had a great time!  Kendall and Kylie got to hang out with family and play with their new water table.  Again, cake wasn't such a huge hit, but we'll get there I'm sure!  What kids don't like cake? ;)

The girls had their one-year checkup and are doing great!  Kylie was 92nd percentile in weight and 90th in height.  Kendall was 90th in weight and 99th in height.  They are going to be tall ladies!

They are a little behind, but both are really starting to walk now.  Kylie has been taking steps for about two months now, but is SO cautious about everything.  Each day, I see more and more progress.  Kendall has just really started taking steps consistantly in the past week.  She just dives in with no fear.  She was even trying to climb the pack n play this weekend.  She is going to be our little daredevil!

We survived!

Kendall and Kylie are officially 1!  I cannot believe it has been a year since they were born.  It has seemed like 10 years ago, and it has seemed like yesterday. 

What a long way we've come! 

The one thing I have learned about my girls (last week at their one year pictures, and tonight), they HATE cake (this was supposed to be a video, but it wouldn't upload):

One Born Every Minute Update #2

Well, I just found out that Lifetime is going to show our episode!  They are running a mini-marathon next Thursday, May 3rd, from 8AM to noon.  Looking at the show descriptions, I believe we will be on the 8 AM episode, but I won't know for sure until I get to see the episodes.

It seems like kind of an afterthought on Lifetime's part, but I am excited it is going to air.  What a great first birthday gift for K & K!

I cannot believe they are almost one!  This has definitely been the craziest, most stressful, and most rewarding year of my life, and I'm sure Kevin would say the same.  We have lots of insanity but much more love!

Mmmm...

The girls are trying out all kinds of new foods.  We're really lucky, they are not picky AT ALL.  Well, at least Kylie isn't. :)  Kendall will eat most things, but Kylie will eat WHATEVER we give her.  It is adorable, and pretty awesome.  I love being able to give them finger foods.  Their favorite things are cheese, toast, chicken, sweet potatoes, ham and ravioli.  They could not get it into their mouths fast enough!  See the pics below, thank god we stripped them down to a diaper before feeding them dinner!

All I have to say, is good thing last night was bath night!

Nine Months!

Where have my little babies gone?!?  It was so funny, Kevin and I were hanging out with the girls tonight after they had dinner, and he was making funny noises at Kendall.  She was just looking at him with this funny expression on her face.  When I looked at her I saw a little girl, not a baby.  It's just so crazy how fast the time goes.  I know I say this every month, but they get big so quickly!

We had their nine month well check today, and they are growing so well.  The doctor even said 'they're perfect'. :)

Kendall

Stats:  21 lbs 11 oz (88% tile)
           29.5 inches long (95% tile)

• Has 8 teeth.  They have been coming in like wildfire!
• Can crawl like a champ.  She is a speed demon!
• Can pull into a stand and is starting to cruise on furniture.
• Is making consonant + vowel sounds - dadadada bababa (or BOB BOB BOB!) when she gets upset!
• Knows her name and can recognize words and some commands.  ('No' is already becoming quite common in our household!)
• Has really been stepping up as the big sister.  Kylie was having troubles last week at day care, and Kendall went over to her and was patting her face to try and make her feel better.  Does it get any sweeter than that?

Stats:  22 lbs 14 oz (95% tile)
           29 inches long (88% tile)

• Has 7 teeth.  Her front teeth are huge!
• Has been crawling for a while.  She can pull into a stand and cruise on furniture with no problem.  She even has stood on her own without holding on to anything.  I have a feeling she will be walking at any time!
• She is also making the mamama, dadadada sounds. 
• Knows her name and can recognize words and some commands.  The funniest one is when we say "Good Boy" she immediately looks at Bono!
• Has been having major separation / stranger anxiety issues.  It has made dropping them off at daycare quite the ordeal.  I feel so bad for her.  I hate leaving her when she's crying.  (Although they always tell me she usually stops before I'm probably out of the parking lot!)

They have both started on finger foods recently, and it's going pretty well.  Kylie will eat WHATEVER we put in front of her.  Kendall is much more picky, but not bad.  We definitely have good little eaters!  They had chicken stew for dinner tonight.  Yum!
