Baby Wyatt

Recently, a member of a Moms of Multiples community I am a part of lost one her 5 month old boys.  He had had a congenital heart condition since birth, and lost his battle a few weeks ago.  I cannot even begin to imagine what she, as a mom, is going through.  Baby Wyatt spent his entire life in the hospital waiting for a heart transplant.  It has to be so hard to have one well baby, and one sick, then to deal with his passing...it would just be unbearable.  My heart just aches for Wyatt's mom and family.

As part of a larger effort from my Mom's of Multiples group, another member is donating 20% of all sales from her Etsy shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/JAGDESIGNS27 which specializes in THE most ADORABLE flower headbands for babies, toddlers and girls. You don't need a special code, just shop and know that a portion of your total will go directly to baby Wyatt's family.

I have purchased many headbands from her shop, and absolutely love them.  She is running this special for one more week, so please visit her shop and know that you will be helping baby Wyatt and his family.

Here are some pics of the K's wearing her headbands!  They are adorable, and incredibly well made.

Mayday, mayday..we've been hit!!!

Whew. What a rough week! It started off wonderfully on Saturday when we woke up to Kylie covered in poop in her crib. We got her bathed and changed and I took her downstairs to Kevin to give her a bottle. Well, she only drank about 4 ounces and threw her bottle. We were confused, this is SO unlike Kylie. So, I picked her up and was holding her when she decides to get rid of those 4 ounces over my shoulder. Ugh. I don’t do vomit well at all!

I took her to the doctor that morning, and it turns out she has an ear infection, so we got her going on some antibiotics. She seemed to perk up by the end of the day, but still wasn’t eating a huge amount. This continued through Sunday. Then, Sunday, Kevin got to join Kylie in the vomiting department. Again, I don’t do vomit, so I slept (or tried to sleep) on the couch. I went to work on Monday, when day care called at the end of the day to say Kylie was running a fever of 100.4. Since she was on antibiotics for three days, it was kind of unusual that she would be running a fever, so I took her back into the doc on Tuesday for an antibiotic shot. It seemed to help.

Wednesday, I took the girls to day care and found out there was some kind of stomach bug going through the place. As a matter of fact, two of their teachers had gone home on Wednesday with the same thing. I was PRAYING that Kendall would stay well…

Thursday, we woke the girls up, and found that Kendall had a fever. Ugh. Back to the doctor we went, and found out SHE also had an ear infection. We got her the shot, and stayed low key playing at home for the rest of the day. Today, it seems like everyone is doing much better. Kevin is his normal self, my three day belly ache has gone away, Kendall is not running a fever, and Kylie seems to be acting a little more like herself. I’m praying this bout of sickness is over!

This is the part of parenthood I was definitely not looking forward to. These poor kids pick up so many germs, bring them home, and then we all get sick. I feel so bad when they are so little and so helpless. There seems to be nothing you can do to make it better. Just lots of cuddles!

On a positive note, Kevin and I are getting a babysitter tonight and going out for dinner. We’re really looking forward to it since we haven’t been out to eat (just the two of us) since October! After this week, it is definitely a welcome treat!
