The 'burgh...

Kevin and I packed up the dogs on Saturday morning and headed to Pittsburgh for the day to visit his parents. Although it is about a 3.5 hour drive, it went quickly! When we got there, the dogs were crazy for about 5 minutes. Once they calmed down, we had the chance to sit down for a little while, have a snack and catch up.

Me yelling (I'm sure) at Bono to settle down!

After that Kevin took his dad to go and get some Yuengling (his favorite beer ever).  Every time we go to Pittsburgh he has to get some since they don't sell it in Ohio.

We sat around for a bit and showed them pictures of our trips to Disney World and St. Pete / Tampa then went out to dinner to this wonderful little restaurant called Siba!  After dinner we just came back to their house and relaxed for a bit.  Kevin taught his mom all the in's and out's of Facebook and I showed his dad some stuff about his new Blackberry Storm!

The next morning we got up early (thanks to some puppies) and had breakfast before we left.  Bono and Mullen were going nuts over the squirrels!  We don't really have any at our house.

Here they are making lots of nose marks on the window!

Here's the squirrel!

They always get treats from Grandma!

When we got back on the road, the dogs were tired out from all the excitement, so they were a lot calmer then they were on the way there.  It was a pretty, sunny day so I tried to get some good pictures of the changing leaves!

We don't have hills like this in Ohio!

It was a very quick but fun weekend! :-)

It's Fall!

While Kevin did the radio thing tonight, I went outside and played with the puppies a little bit before it got dark out. We got a chance to enjoy the warmer weather before it gets cold again!

The dogs love their squeeky tennis ball (and just running around with one another)!! It's nice to let them run around outside since they are stuck inside all day while we're at work!

I also got some great shots of our burning bushes. They are GORGEOUS right now!! :)

Action Shot!

Kevin put up some corn stalks last weekend!

Where's Mullen???

Oh, there she is!

Pretty!

A blur of dogs running around the house!

Having fun :-)

I love our zebra grass in the backyard. The tops remind me of sea oats at the beach!!

Get the ball!

Nope, I got it!

About one day left to enjoy this beautiful weather!

Wonderful week (and weekend) at home!!

This week was pretty busy, but it was still great to be at home. I still haven't been able to kick this dumb sinus infection that has been plaguing me since we came home from WDW...hopefully the second round of antibiotics I'm on will do the trick!

Friday, I went to see a good friend from college, Katie. She lives on the west side of Columbus with her husband and her adorable little girl Addie. Katie was actually the very first person I met at Ohio University during orientation. Luckily we were in the same dorm freshman year, and we lived together (with three other girls) in an off campus house Junior and Senior year.

I dug this picture up from our Senior year when we did the "Pink House Shuffle". In case you aren't aware, a "shuffle" is a tradition at OU. You try to get to the 20+ bars on campus and have a drink at each. Although we didn't make every bar, we did a good job! We also lived in a Pink House, hence the "Pink House Shuffle!" (Left-Right - Kim, Katie, Me, Brenda (in front)):

It was great to spend the afternoon with Katie, Addie, and Simon (the dog)! Although we don't live that far from each other, we definitely don't get together as much as we should. I'm guilty of letting friendships slide because I "am busy" or whatever other excuse comes up. I've definitely been learning lately, that the true friendships in your life will always be there, no matter what. But both of us do admit that we need to get together more often. Hopefully when they move up this way next summer. We won't have any excuses then!!! :-)

Doors are fun!

Last night I went in with Kevin to do "70s Saturday Night"! Kevin does a Saturday night radio show for 93.3 WLZT in Columbus. He has a great time doing it (although he was only 2 years old when the 70s were over), he does a great job and actually has regular callers that call in every week! It's funny, since he's been doing this show, the 70s music on my iPod has increased dramatically! I have a great time going in with him, and just take my scrapbook stuff and work on that. It gives me a good amount of room to spread out!

U2 and The Beach!!

Doesn't that sound like a great weekend? It was! Kevin and I went to Tampa on Friday to see U2! We had a smooth flight out of Columbus on Friday morning. When we left Columbus, it was 50 degrees. It was 95 when we landed in Tampa. Big Difference!! Once we got to Tampa, we got our rental car and headed towards St. Pete. We were a little too early to check in when we got to St. Pete, so we grabbed a quick lunch at this little beachside seafood restaurant called Crabby Bill's. Such a great little place! We sat on the back deck and looked at the Gulf while we ate lunch. It was such a wonderful start to the weekend!

After lunch we went and checked into our resort, the Sirata Beach Resort. We got a King Suite with a balcony. It was nice enough, but kind of a strange setup. We both thought it was a decent place to stay for two nights.

After we checked in, we walked around the resort and down the beach a little, then got cleaned up and headed down to the concert! We met Kevin's friends Josh and Cheryl down at the stadium. It was so good to see them! The last time we saw them was at their wedding three years ago! The concert was AMAZING. The band Muse opened up for U2. They were a great start to the concert. :) U2 was incredible! They opened up with 'Breathe' (from the new album). Some of my other favorites from the concert was 'Beautiful Day', 'Mysterious Ways', 'The Unforgettable Fire', and 'Magnificent'. Great show!! If you get a chance to see them I would HIGHLY recommend it!

Here are some pics from our first day:

Day two was much more relaxing! We got up and moving fairly early so we could have breakfast with Josh and Cheryl before they headed back to Port St. Lucie (near West Palm Beach, FL). We had breakfast at the Compass Cove Restaurant at the resort. It wasn't bad! After breakfast, they had to head back home, so we said good-bye and went to the beach. It was HOT that day. The sun was beating down on us. We went into the Gulf for a little bit. The water was SOOOOO warm! I think Kevin and I were still both sweating while we were in the water. After we came back to shore, we decided to see if the pool was a bit more refreshing. It was! The pool was so nice. We stayed in for a while, and then headed to Harry's Beach Bar for a frozen drink! After cooling down a bit, we headed back out onto the beach and took a 2 mile walk along the water. The sun was hiding for almost our entire walk, which was great...until the end of the walk, when it started to get very hot again. I noticed Kevin's shoulders were getting a little burnt, so we decided to take a quick dip in the pool and head up to the room to clean up.

After cleaning up and deciding where to eat for dinner, we headed back downstairs to the other beach bar in our resort - Rum Runner's. We had such a blast there! We watched a little football, and started talking to this nice man from Australia. We ended up staying there for a little over two hours. (Which equated to 1 beer and 2 rum and diet's for me, and a beer and three rum and cokes for Kevin!). Oh well, it's vacation, right?!?!?!

Around 7 we headed down to The Hurricane restaurant for dinner. We were seated on the outside patio on the second level of the restaurant. It was an absolutely breathtaking view! We caught the tail end of the sunset. Amazing...this is why I love water so much! It is so serene. The food was great too. It was a wonderful place to have dinner.

After dinner we decided to head back out onto the beach. We laid in a hammock for a little while, and sat on the sand and listened to the ocean. It was a wonderful end to an amazing weekend. We will definitely return to St. Pete!

Here are some pics from day 2:
Isn't it beautiful?!?!?
