23 Weeks!

Just a quick post today!  Here is my 23 week picture.  The belly is a lot clearer than the last picture I posted!

Here are some other funny pictures we took after my 23 week pic.  The dogs wanted to get involved as well...

Mullen wanted to get in on the preggo pic!

Kevin and Bono

Doesn't Bono look thrilled???

Even more thrilled :)

Mullen in mid-bark!

I had to get some cute pictures of the dogs in.  I'm sure their photo time is going to be quite limited in the future!  We already think that Bono is having some 'issues' with my pregnancy.  For the past couple months he has been destroying things around the house when we're not here.  Mostly it's just Kevin's office supplies. I've come home countless times to a lovely mess of shredded paper, notebooks, and pen confetti.  (Which yes, has resulted in many ink stains on our light tan carpet, and many runs of the carpet shampooer).

We decided to start putting him in his crate again last week after a particularly destructive session of "Shred the Office Supplies".  Thursday, Kevin put him in his crate and left for the day.  When he got home, both Bono and Mullen greeted him at the door.   He went downstairs and noticed the bottom latch on the side door of his crate was undone. Kevin thought he just forgot to check the latches on that door and Bono must have just pushed the door open enough that he could squeeze out.  So, on Friday, Kevin made sure that Bono was locked securely in his crate.  He tested both doors to make sure every lock was latched.  Well....when I got home at 4PM, who greeted me at the door????  Yes, that's right...Bono!   I went down and checked his crate to find that the top latch on the front of his crate was undone.  I have no idea how he managed to squeeze himself out of that door without hurting himself or breaking the crate.  He weighs 105 pounds!!  He just amazes me sometimes!  He is now known as Bondini around here! :)  We haven't put him in his crate since out of fear that he will hurt himself...

Don't let that innocent look fool you!

More Scrapbooking!

Believe it or not, I have managed to squeeze in some scrapbooking time even with all the crazyness going on with the babies coming.  I finished the Disney scrapbooks from our trip in 2009.  (Yes...scrapbook(S))!  We took entirely too many pictures from that trip and I needed two scrapbooks to complete everything!  Here are some of my favorites:

My Bookshelf - The Disney Albums are at the top!

Close up of the albums

Chef Mickey's page

Anniversary Dinner page

World Showcase collage!

The World Showcase emblem is actually a picture we took of one of the trash cans!

I had to do a Monorail page for Kevin!

I love this dye-cut!  I got it from ScrapYourTrip.com.
I also finished a digital scrapbook from our Jamaica trip.  Here are some of the JPEGs of the pages I made.  They really turned out cute, and it's a super fast and easy way to make a great looking scrapbook!

I am about to start a scrapbook for 2009, 2010, and a baby one (that I can just plug pictures into.)  I am not sure how much time I'm going to have once the twins come.  Here's hoping I can really get cracking on these! :)

One last picture: me at 22 weeks! :)  The belly is definitely growing!!

21.5 Week Update!

A friend at work sent me the blog of his wife who is pregnant with their first baby (she’s actually due a month before me!) She does a bi-weekly update on how she’s feeling and what’s going on with the baby, and I thought this was a great idea. I thought I would do something similar for myself. It will be great to look back and see what was going on in that pregnant head of mine!

Here’s the update on me and the babies:

How far along? 21 weeks, 4 days

Weight gain: As of my Doctor’s appointment today, I am 12 pounds over what I was pre-pregnancy. Yikes!

Fun baby-related activities this week? We registered on Saturday! We started at Target, and made our way over to Babies R Us. We were both WIPED OUT after leaving Babies R Us! We were there for about 2 ½ hours! We registered for some really cute things though, and I’m dying to get started on the nursery…we just need to get a free weekend.

Movement: I’ve felt flutters for a few weeks now, but the last week and a half they have been getting stronger and more frequent. Kevin even felt a few kicks last week! I also found out that I have what’s called an ‘anterior placenta’. Basically, the placenta(s) is on the top and front of my stomach which has a tendency of muffling the babies’ movement. I am so excited to be feeling them now, and can’t wait until I see feet poking out of my belly.

Food cravings/aversions: My constant craving has been fruit! I am in love with bananas, oranges, and golden delicious apples. I also always want super cold water with ice. Chicken or any kind of meat has been my biggest aversion…with the exception of a grilled chicken sandwich from McDonalds. I was dying for one last Friday night and ended up getting that along with a fruit and yogurt parfait. Must have been my body telling me to eat more protein!

What I am looking forward to? Getting started on that nursery! We’re going with a Pink/Brown/White color theme. I can’t wait to see how it turns out! We’re also going to hopefully order the cribs and dresser this weekend. Can’t wait!

What I’m nervous about: This week has been a nerve-wracking one for me. Ever since my ultrasound last week, I have been a little nervous. My anatomy scan was done at the hospital where I will be having the twins…not my doctor’s office. They are just completely different about how they deal with patients at a hospital vs. a doctor’s office. I felt like they weren’t giving me the whole story about why I have to come back, and couldn’t shake that feeling. Then, I had my first pregnancy breakdown the next night. Even though I asked the doctor if there was anything to be concerned about (which he answered ‘No’), I was still rattled for whatever reason. Kevin really helped calm me down, but I was so nervous about my doctor’s appointment today. My doctor came in (who is AWESOME by the way) and was asking how everything is going. I told him that I have had a lot of anxiety lately. He then was going over the results from the ultrasound and told me that the only thing they want me to come back for is to check the growth of one of the twins. Her cord is implanted near the end of the placenta, and he said there is a small chance that this may slightly hinder her growth. He says a lot of times this problem goes completely undetected, and is not even discovered until after the baby is born. They just want to monitor her growth and make sure she is doing well. But again he said it is really NOTHING to be concerned about. They are both on track and growing great! And as an extra bonus I got to see them again today. Yay!

He also said that everything looks really good, and he sees no issue with me going full term! I want to keep those twinnies cooking as long as possible!

So that’s the update on me and the girls. I cannot believe that I am closing in on 22 weeks. Despite the sickness(s) and everything, this pregnancy is speeding by so fast. They’ll be here and life will be changed before we know it! I can’t wait!!

Oh boys, or girls, or one of each?!?!?!?

Ugh.  I have been wanting to get on here for a while, but just haven't made the time!  I still need to get caught up on the blogs I normally follow!! :)

Right after we found out we were having twins, I told my husband that I thought there were two girls in there.  Then I started wavering thinking that there may be a boy.  I think I was hoping that there would be a boy in there for Grandpa's sake. :)

We found out at my 17 week appointment that Baby A was a GIRL!  Then came Baby B's turn, and Baby B was not opening those legs!  Oh well, we knew we would find out soon enough....

Yesterday I had my 20 week anatomy scan.  45 minutes of someone pressing on your belly with an ultrasound wand is a lot.  I was sore, but appreciative to see my two favorite twins again. :)  Of course, both twins had to be stubborn (hmm...must take after mom :-))  and we weren't able to get all the measurements, but that's ok.  We at least get to see them again in four weeks!

She confirmed that Baby A is still, in fact, a girl!  Thankfully, Baby B was a little bit more cooperative with letting us find out the gender this time.  The tech went between B's legs, and said "I know what B is".  I looked and immediately knew as well.  It looks like we'll have two little princesses on our hands in a few months!  Kevin already is planning a trip to the princess tea at the Grand Floridian!  (....and I think I saw a few grey hairs pop up on poor Kevin's head after she confirmed our two girls!)  But, we couldn't be happier!

Short update on mama:  I'm actually doing pretty well recently.  I have FINALLY gotten over the morning sickness! Yay! I still have definite food aversions...(ummm...chicken = nasty). But, at least I can tolerate more than bagels and spaghettio's!  I also am feeling much better after finally kicking the nasty head cold I had over Christmas, my birthday, and New Years.  I'm just crossing my fingers that I have a healthy next 16-18 weeks!

Thought I would post some pics of my progression.  We took pictures at 5, 10, 15, 19, and 20 weeks.  I will not be posting pic 19...because I'm slightly vain...and I look like poo.  But, there is a HUGE difference between weeks 15 and 20.  I think we are going to start taking pictures every week now.  My belly is definitely starting to take over!  I'm just happy the twinnies seem to be growing well!

5 weeks (we just found out!)

10 weeks

15 weeks (little belly)

20 weeks...(Hello Twins!)
