Nursery!

Yes, we finally got the nursery finished last weekend!  It is absolutely adorable...and I have to give Kevin credit for the decorating.  We both picked out everything, but he thought he would surprise me by putting it all together (complete with a grand 'reveal'!)  He did an amazing job, and I think our two little girls are going to absolutely LOVE their adorable room!

BEFORE shots:

As you can see, we obviously have never done anything to this room! :)

Cleared out and ready for an overhaul!

Me and my first baby :)

Oh, how life is going to change for these two!

I can't wait until there are babies joining me here! :)

31 week update!

I can't believe I am 31 weeks along! I think I have told Kevin about 3 million times over the past couple days that I can't believe I only have 7 weeks left! This pregnancy has sped by!

This past week I finally think I am beginning to understand what all the other pregnant girls have been talking about. I have been having some annoying leg pain all week long. The aches and pains are definitely starting to present themselves, but again, it's nothing that is too hard for me to handle! :)

Here how the girls (and I) are doing as of today!

How far along? 31 weeks

Weight Gain: 25 pounds as of a week ago Friday. I'll find out on Wednesday how much more I need to tack on to that total!

Baby Weight: I'm figuring they are both over 3lbs at this point. I have my next growth scan on Wednesday and will find out for sure!

Fun baby-related activities this week? The people at work threw me a little surprise shower on Friday! It was so nice (especially since about 85% of the people I work with are men!) One of the girls I work with set everything up, and even got a hold of Kevin and made sure he was there too. It was so wonderful of everyone, and they were all SO generous!

Adorable cake!

Surprise!

Yep.  Pregnant girl standing in front of the Budget your Calories sign.  Ironic?!?

Cutting the cake!

Movement: I still get some good kicks here and there, but I think they are starting to get a little crowded down there. Now I feel more rolls and taps than full blown kicks. Although, they definitely like to let me know they are there throughout the day. I realized this week that I am really going to miss this part of pregnancy. I absolutely love feeling them move around.

How am I feeling? The worst part of this prgnancy for me (aside from the morning sickness in the 1st and 2nd tri) has been the acid reflux.  It has gotten really bad the past couple weeks, to the point where I REALLY have to watch what kind of food I am eating.  Sometimes that even doesn't matter.  I seem to get reflux from just drinking water at times.

The leg and back pains have started creeping in this past week as well, and just because of the size of my belly, I've noticed it is a little harder to get around.

All in all though, I really can't complain.  This pregnancy has not been bad at all, and I know that keeping those girls in there for another 7 weeks is going to be the best thing for them.  :)

What I am looking forward to? Meeting our baby girls.  I can't wait! :)

What I’m nervous about: Still nervous about the c-section.  As of my last check, Baby B was still breech.  I have pretty much prepared myself for one.

Kevin and I watch the show on Lifetime called 'One Born Every Minute', which is filmed at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.  This is actually where I am going to be delivering the twins.  My doctor was on the episode that aired this past week delivering twins via c-section.  After watching him do that, I actually felt a little better.  I have a great doc and know that I am going to be in good hands!

Here are some pics from my baby shower two weeks ago!

28.5 weeks!

I missed my week 26 update…but we have been so busy lately! We put together the cribs and dresser a few weeks ago, and Kevin pretty much finished the nursery last weekend. We just are waiting for the glider and small table to come in, and we still need to get the crib bedding. It is so adorable so far...I will definitely post pictures when it is complete!

I had an ultrasound and OB appointment yesterday, so now is a perfect time for an update on the babies and I!

How far along? 28 weeks, 4 days

Weight Gain: 24 pounds (YIKES!)

Baby Weight: Baby A is 2lbs 8oz and Baby B is 2lbs 10 oz. They are right on target for where they should be! The ultrasound tech was so blown away with how well they were doing yesterday. She kept saying that they are both looking textbook perfect. YAY! I’m doing a good job growing these two!

Fun baby-related activities this week? As I mentioned earlier, we almost finished the nursery. I ordered my glider and a small table for the room last weekend. I can’t wait until they come in. Also, (and most importantly) my baby shower is on Saturday! I can’t wait! There are going to be about 50 people there. I can’t wait to see everyone!

Movement: Lots! Baby A is my crazy girl. She loves kicking and punching, and has made herself a nice pillow on my bladder. She responds right away when Kevin or I put a hand on my belly. She rolls towards the hand and we’ll see limbs start moving across the left side of my belly. It is so adorable!

Baby B is behind Baby A, so I feel her more at my back and on my right side. But, the other day I was out doing errands and got back into my car after being at the grocery store. When I sat down, I felt a ton of pressure on my right side right under my ribs. I felt my side with my hand and noticed a football shaped bulge sticking out. I immediately thought…uh oh! She just flipped! Well, it was confirmed yesterday, she is breech now. What a little stinker! The doc said there is still a good chance that she will flip back to being head down, but if she doesn’t (or if Baby A flips) I will definitely have a c-section. I was hoping to avoid that, but whatever gets them here safely is what is most important!

Food cravings/aversions: None really. Just trying to drink lots of ice water!

How am I feeling? Overall, pretty good. I’ve had lots of round ligament pain because of the rapid growth of my uterus, and some back pain…but nothing too major. I am starting to wake up more often at night since I am starting to get uncomfortable. I tend to get some hip pain if I lay in the same position too long. It helps some if I sleep with a pillow between my legs. The worst has been the acid reflux. I’ve been popping Tums like crazy lately!

What I am looking forward to? Completing the nursery and the baby shower!

What I’m nervous about: Hoping Baby B flips back…I really don’t want a c-section!

The doc told me that they will schedule me for an induction or c-section during week 38. Less than 10 weeks to go! WOW! I can’t believe how quickly time has flown, and I can’t wait to meet our baby girls!

Me @ 28 weeks!  All belly!

Kev and I.  (Isn't he adorable?!?!)
